Ancient Empires Lux

Urban Legend
Ah, now here is a game crafted with love. Beautiful pixel artwork, frantic caffeinated music, and the sort of sense of humour they just don’t understand in the US. It plays rather like the X-Com games in pseudo-realtime, and like the X-Com games, it’s good fun and I got quite thoroughly absorbed in it. -7.7 from Gametunnel
Fantasy Wars
It may be old-school, but Fantasy Wars isn’t behind the times when it comes to providing satisfying, albeit spectacularly tough, turn-based strategy gameplay.-7.5 from Gamespot
Sword of the Stars: Born in Blood
Born of Blood is a very good, though brutally challenging, expansion to the turn-based space strategy game Sword of the Stars. – 7.5 from Gamespot
Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties
The Asian Dynasties is a solid expansion that offers unique Asian civs and some other gameplay tweaks to Age of Empires III. – 7.5 from Gamespot
War Front: Turning Point
War Front: Turning Point is a decidedly different take on the WWII real-time strategy game, complete with jetpack Nazis and freeze rays. -7.5 from Gamespot
Starship Kingdom
Starship Kingdom is also a difficult game; be prepared to lose a good number of matches against the AI due in part to the concerns mentioned earlier. Still, Starship Kingdom has a solid foundation for a strategy game. Although you can tell the inspiration of the game, Starship Kingdom takes an established formula and makes meaningful embellishments to the gameplay.->7.5 from Out of Eight website
Air Assault Task Force
Air Assault Task Force takes the ATF engine and adds some meaningful improvements that make the game more usable and more approachable than previous titles. The unique setting and theme is enough to draw some attention to the game and the focus on helicopter operations is refreshing. Air Assault Task Force may not be the most user friendly game in the world, but it’s much better off than previous titles. I will give Air Assault Task Force points for adding a unique approach, distinctive settings, and an improved interface. The game editors and ability to import scenarios from other ProSim games extends the life of the title and also means that there are already hundreds of scenarios for the game. Joining a multiplayer game is very easy and the in-game browser is one of the best proprietary engines seen in a wargame. The inherent complexity of Air Assault Task Force won’t appeal to everyone, but gamers looking for a unique approach and a focus on helicopter operations will find a lot to like in this title-7.5 from Out of Eight website

If you enjoy political simulations, want to understand more of the politics of that region, or are an educator, PeaceMaker is definitely worth looking at. – 7.5 from Gametunnel
Carriers at War
Not pretty, plump, or progressive, CaW succeeds in spite of itself. Depths of Peril
The game switches seamlessly from traditional RPG combat to diplomacy and back again, and the end product is very entertaining. You never spend enough time in either part of the game to get tired of it, and alternating between grand strategy and action role-playing varies the overall experience in a good way. You might be a high-level monster-killing machine, but if all the other factions gang up on you, it will not matter. You have to master both aspects of the game, and this dichotomy is where Depths of Peril shines. There are some missing features and it’s not the easiest game in the world to get in to thanks to the sub-par tutorial, but it sure is fun once it gets going. Depths of Peril is a highly recommended title that seamlessly blends two genres into a unique and compelling gaming experience.-8.5 from Out of Eight website

But it is probably the best adventure to come from Spiderweb Software since the early Avernum games. The game only falls down with its ropey and cluttered presentation. However, in saying all this, if you do not really mind about names etc then this game is certainly worth a try. The racing itself is very good, the game as a whole is only let down by some graphical issues to do with the backgrounds.
